The number of refugees globally has dramatically increased over the past two years. According to the UN Refugee Agency, in 2022108.4 millionpeople were displaced globally due to human rights violations, violence, persecution, general conflict, and climate change. This 27 percent increase from 2021 to 2022 has surpassed the record set during and after the unfolding of WWII and is expected to rise again this year. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to1.2 billion peopledue to climate change alone.
